Lettering is jazz and fun. You draw letters and create various compositions with them. There are no restrictions on tools and materials. All you need is a rich imagination, skills in building letters and compositions.
Lettering course program
- We will talk about lettering, get acquainted with the elements of lettering composition and styles. We’ll start studying the rules for constructing grotesque letters.
- Let’s move on to a more complex group of fonts – antiqua. Let’s find out what serifs are and where they came from and create a small composition.
- We’ll learn handwritten fonts in lettering, which are based on calligraphy. Let’s diversify our lettering!
- We’ll create shadows and volume of letters using chalk.
- Let’s hit the classics – composition with vintage lettering.
- Lettering in color. We’ll create a composition in color.
- We are going to add decorative elements: ribbons, borders, frames to our composition.
- Let’s create the final work.
