Creating Bridges. Final event.

On Friday and Saturday, 30–31 January, 2026, I took part on the cultural event, exhibition and final project presentation for the Creating Bridges EU-UA project.

The last two years of my life have been largely dedicated to an international EU-supported project Creating Bridges , where I took part as a trainer of calligraphy workshops for Ukrainian women who were forced to leave their homes because of the war.

Overall, the project connected three countries — Ukraine, Greece, and Belgium. All activities in Greece were organized by ANCE.

Over these two years, we held 11 calligraphy workshops with around 50 participants, many of whom have become not just students, but good friends.

Being part of an international project like this is, of course, a great honor. But the greatest reward for me was the response from the participants — the realization that calligraphy, even for a short time, helped them disconnect, breathe, and forget about difficulties and worries.

I’m deeply happy to see how, year by year, I introduce more and more people to calligraphy — and they discover it as a completely new, previously unknown form of art.

This weekend in Athens, we held the final event of the project: an exhibition, workshops, presentations by organizers and trainers, and a jazz concert — a beautiful and emotional closing.

Special thanks to Mina Zografaki, the project manager from ANCE — it was an absolute pleasure to work with you!
